How long should it take to get my bike?
All custom bicycle orders will be produced within 1 week of order. If you are getting the bike shipped it means that the bicycle will be shipped within that week time frame. Alot of the times the shipped bike will arrive within that week time frame however we cannot make that guarantee for far distances such as California.
Can I put gears on my cruiser or city bike?
Most of our bikes come with one gear, but we do offer the Shimano Nexus 3 speed upgrade which comes with the shifter kit. This upgrade costs $200 and can be found below the custom builder.
Do you carry any colors that are not on the website?
No, we do not. The colors shown on the bike builder represent all the available parts that we currently have in stock. As we sell out of certain parts we will remove them from the bike builder. As new parts come in we will re-activate those parts
If I live close can I pick my bike up instead of having it shipped?
We keep all the parts in our local warehouse in Charleston, SC. You are welcome to pick up your custom bicycle at our physical location. You can wave the shipping fee by selecting “in store pickup” on the checkout page.
What is the difference in the seats?
Black/Brown Leather Saddle- this is a comfortable classy looking saddle.
Drifter Saddles- the Selle Royalle drifter saddles are the highest quality, most comfortable saddles we offer. Unlike the other saddles that use foam, the Selle Royalle saddles use a high quality gel that contributes to unmatched comfort.
Do I have to assemble my bike when it arrives? (only for shipped bikes)
When you receive your bike it will come 85% assembled and will require minimum additional assembly. While our cruisers are very simple to assemble, some of our other bikes require a little more assembly and tuning to get riding smoothly. If you are not comfortable adjusting hand brakes or gears, please take the bike to a professional bicycle shop for assembly and adjustments.
While we do provide basic tools for assembly, we highly recommend visiting your local bike shop to have a professional bike mechanic build or inspect your new bike. There are many things that seem intuitive when assembling a bike that are not. There are certain tolerances for tightening each bolt. We have even seen customers put bikes together with the fork on backwards. Your bike has traveled quite a ways to your home and despite doing our best to package and protect your bike, sometimes damage occurs due to improper handling and adjusting (or re-adjusting) may be required. For all these reasons we suggest having a professional bike mechanic assemble your bicycle.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is free anywhere in the continental US on orders over $100.00. Call us for questions about shipping anywhere else.
Some bikes, such as the Concierge and Moonrover are subject to a $50 shipping charge. This is due to the bikes over sized dimensions.
My Bike/Box arrived damaged, what do I do?
Document any damage!
In order to start the warranty/replacement process, we need pictures. You can place a warranty claim by clicking “Warranty” at the bottom of www.Bildabike.com.
A lot of times, even though there may be some superficial damage to the shipping box, the bicycle itself is okay. We take great measures to protect the bike and accessories. Please unpack and inspect the bike thoroughly.
Once documentation has been submitted, our team will be in touch once we determine the best action to be taken.
We have procedures in place for replacing damaged bikes/parts. If need be, Bildabike will issue a return shipment label on your behalf for any bikes that have extensive shipping damage and are determined to be totaled. This is only applicable for damaged returns, BildaBike’s team will determine if you qualify for a covered return. Otherwise, all returns will be subject to the customer covering the return cost of shipping.
***Any refusal of shipment, will automatically charge the customer the return cost of shipping. A refund will be issued minus the cost of shipping and a 6% card processing fee. No exceptions!***
