Frequently Asked Questions
Bicycles
Can I pick up my bike instead of having it shipped?
If you would prefer to pick up your custom or complete bike from our flagship store, located in downtown Charleston, SC, you can waive the shipping fee by selecting “in store pickup” on the checkout page. We will contact you when your order is ready.
If you are not in the Charleston area, check out our dealer map to find a Bildabike dealer near you.
The Flagship Store is fully stocked with all the complete bikes on our website, as well as a selection of custom models for test ride or purchase. Feel free to stop by and chat with a sales representative.
How long should it take to get my bike?
All custom bicycle orders will be produced within 1 week. If the bike is being shipped, it will depart our warehouse by the following business day upon completion. All of our bicycles are shipped via FedEx Ground within the continental 48 states.
If you order one of our complete bikes, it will depart our warehouse within 2 business days of the order.
All of our complete bikes, and a selection of custom bikes, are available for purchase in the BildaBike Flagship Store at 677 King Street, Charleston, SC 29403.
Do you carry any bicycles or colors that are not on the website?
Our website is updated in real time to reflect our current inventory. If a color option does not appear, we are currently out of stock. If you wish to put your name on a wait list, you may contact us via the “Contact” link on the homepage.
Do shipped bikes need to be assembled?
A shipped bike will come 85% assembled. However, all bikes require an initial tune-up after assembly. To retain your manufacturer’s warranty, your new bicycle must be assembled by a professional bicycle mechanic at a brick and mortar shop. If you need warranty assistance, you will be required to provide proof of professional assembly. A bicycle that is not assembled by a professional mechanic is done so at your own risk.
How much is shipping?
Most bikes will be shipped for a flat rate of $50 per bike.
Some oversized or heavier bikes, such as the Pontoon Rover and Cargo Bike, have an additional shipping charge.
My Bike/Box arrived damaged, what do I do?
Document any damage!
In order to start the warranty/replacement process, you will be required to provide pictures. You can place a warranty claim by clicking “Warranty” at the bottom of www.Bildabike.com.
Often times, even though there may be some superficial damage to the shipping box, the bicycle itself may be undamaged. We take great measures to protect your bike and accessories. Please unpack and inspect your bike thoroughly.
Once documentation has been submitted, our team will be in touch with a solution once we determine the best course of action. Bildabike will provide you with a return shipping label for all pre-approved damage requests.
If a customer refuses shipment, they will automatically be charged return postage. In this event, a refund will be issued minus the cost of shipping and a 6% card processing fee. No exceptions!
BildaBike is not responsible for any labor costs associated with replacing any parts or frame.
